INTRODUCTION

The Festival is a free event organised by STRATFORWARD BID and Cotswold Markets of Moreton-in-Marsh.  Stratforward BID is a non-profit making organisation supporting the town centre businesses of Stratford-upon-Avon.

The Stratford Town Centre Food Festival is all about local, featuring a bustling regional food producers market with over 120 stalls spread throughout our historic streets.

PRE-ARRIVAL AND PARKING

For information on travel and transport please see

The Park & Ride and Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway train station car parks will now operate as one, with the car park being converted to a Pay and Display car park. All users will be required to purchase a car park Pay & Display ticket or have a valid season ticket displayed on their dashboard. This does not apply to Blue Badge holders when displaying a current blue badge.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The Stratford-upon-Avon train station is approximately 10 minutes from the Festival site and there is an easy pedestrian route with dropped kerbs and tactile paving at all major road junctions.

Due to the road closures town centre buses for Wood Street and Bridge Street are diverted to Guild Street on both sides of the road close to the rear of Marks and Spencer and adjacent to Kwik Fit.

Buses from the Alcester direction are diverted from Wood Street to Rother Street.

TAXI RANKS

Due to the road closures the following streets have no taxi rank parking during the Festival:

TEMPORARY TAXI RANK PARKING PROVISION

Rother Square (Outside One Stop) 4 spaces

Bridge Street (Leading onto Bridgefoot) 6 spaces

Both these Temporary Taxi Ranks are within the road closure area and therefore accessed with the assistance of Festival staff.

FESTIVAL ENTRY

Entry to the Festival area is free and all on level ground.

Surfaces are smooth asphalt, but you may encounter protectors over cables on the ground.  These are kept to a minimum height suitable for the cable and all types of wheelchair or mobility scooter.  Where possible power supply cables will be installed safely above head height.

DEMONSTRATION KITCHEN

The demo kitchen will be located on Waterside opposite the Encore public house.  The preparation and cooking areas are covered by TV cameras allowing a good view of the demonstrations via overhead screens.  Festival staff will be on hand to assist people with disabilities to ensure they benefit fully from the experience. Seats can be removed from rows to accommodate wheelchairs and spaces are left at the front of the seating area for wheelchairs.  The demo kitchen is free to enter on a “first come first served” basis.

STALLS

The majority of stalls have steel frames, PVC/Canvas roofs with wooden counters at table height (80 cms). Stall holders will be happy to serve from the front of the stall if possible. Ask if you need assistance.

PUBLIC TOILETS

The festival leaflet shows the location of toilets that are open during the festival.  There may also be many cafes, bars and restaurants that allow access during the festival.  Many accessible toilets require a Radar key for access.
