Receptionist – Shakespeare Centre – Part-time, permanent contract (REF: 172)
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for a part-time Receptionist to be based at the Shakespeare Centre. Your working pattern will be three days per week and include working alternate Saturdays. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, in person, by telephone and by e-mail, for the Shakespeare Centre and other departments of the Trust.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel, Gmail and be self-motivated. Previous reception and switch board experience would also be an advantage.
You will be responsible for operating the Trusts switchboard and routing all calls to reception as appropriate, providing information in response to visitors enquiries, face to face, on the telephone and by email whether it be about the Trust’s activities, including opening hours, entrance charges and events. You will also monitor our social media, and respond where appropriate.
You will also be responsible for keeping record of visitors signing in and out of the building, keeping a central computerised diary of staff movements, absences and meetings, taking deliveries of parcels and post and logging incoming and outgoing deliveries. You will also check the First Aid Rota daily, ensuring the First Aid Bag, and radio are passed to the relevant person.

Kitchen Assistant – Mary Arden’s Farm – Part-time, Fixed-term contract (REF: 173)
The Trust is looking for a part-time Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Mary Arden’s Farm for the summer season. Working an average of 30 hours per week, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of food and drink to the required standards for all customers.
You will assist in all aspects of the day to day kitchen duties including cleaning and will assist the Management team in ensuring the effective operation and profitability of the Hospitality department.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in the hospitality industry, excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills. You will be approachable and able to demonstrate an ability to work with a wide range of colleagues with an enthusiastic attitude.

Retail Sales Assistant – Shakespeare’s Birthplace – Part-time, permanent contract (REF: 174)
We are looking for two Retail Sales Assistants to join the Birthplace Shop team on part-time permanent contracts. During busy periods we welcome in excess of 300,000 people to our lively shop and need the help of enthusiastic team members to make their visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace a memorable one. So if you have a love of hard work, sales, display and meeting thousands of different people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy then we may have just the job for you.
Day to day tasks will involve till operation, merchandising of displays, a fair amount of lifting/carrying heavy items, adding value to customer’s purchases and experiences, advising prospective visitors of the offer of the Trust and helping to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Birthplace Shop.
Shakespeare's Birthplace and the Gift Shop are open seven days a week, and you will be required to work weekdays, weekends and a fair share of Bank Holidays so you should be flexible and available.
Previous retail experience is beneficial. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.
