Cafe Supervisor – Mary Arden’s Farm - Full-time, fixed term contract

The Trust is currently looking for a full-time Cafe Supervisor for Mary Arden’s Farm for this season. You will supervise the cafe team to make sure that visitors receive a high quality service, from an efficient, profitable and enjoyable cafe.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a busy cafe or restaurant, you will be able to supervise, motivate and coach others within the team to ensure customers receive an enjoyable all round experience. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to handle any problems that may arise in a calm and professional manner.

The Trust is looking for three part-time Catering Assistants to join the Cafe team at Mary Arden's Farm for the summer season working 10 hours per week.

You will ensure visitors receive a great service, in an efficient and timely manner and that they have a memorable visit. You will have experience of working in a busy cafe or restaurant and be motivated to deliver excellent customer service. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with other staff in a professional manner. 

The post holders will need to be available to work over seven days and Bank Holidays.

Chef Supervisor – Mary Arden’s Farm – Part-time, permanent contract

The Trust is looking for a Chef Supervisor to join the Cafe team at Mary Arden’s Farm Cafe.

You will prepare food and drinks to the required service standards, paying attention to portion control, quality and presentation. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the creation and costing of new food items, have involvement in the menu design for special events, and be a vital part of the Chef team preparing high quality food for those special events.

To be successful in this role you should have experience of working in a commercial kitchen, have strong food knowledge, be aware of food hygiene and kitchen standards. You should have a genuine interest and passion for food, and be able to work as part of a small team and also independently. You should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to manage situations as they arise to make sure our customers are not impacted.

Please note: The working hours vary across the year, you will work 35 hours per week during the open season, and 18 hours per week during the closed season. This equates to 1,548 hours per annum which averages 30 hours per week.

Events Assistant – Creative Programme – Part-time, fixed term contract

The Trust is looking for a part-time Events Assistant to work from Monday 11th March 2019 to Tuesday 31st December 2019 in the Creative Programme Team delivering events at the Shakespeare Centre and other Trust properties.

The Trust is looking for a part-time Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Mary Arden’s Farm for the summer season.

Working an average of 25 hours per week, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of food and drink to the required standards for all customers. You will assist in all aspects of the day to day kitchen duties including cleaning and will assist the Management team in ensuring the effective operation and profitability of the Hospitality department.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in the hospitality industry, excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills. You will be approachable and able to demonstrate an ability to work with a wide range of colleagues with an enthusiastic attitude.

The post holders will need to be available to work over seven days and Bank Holidays.

Period Interpreters – Anne Hathaway’s Cottage - Part-time, fixed term contract

The Trust is looking to recruit two part-time Period Interpreters to work 15.5 hours per week to support the existing team at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens during the summer season.

Reporting to the House Steward and working closely with the other Period Interpreters and Conservation and Engagement Supervisor, you will deliver excellent standards of visitor experience through a warm welcome and engaging sharing of information to enhance visitors' understanding of Shakespeare's work, life and times.

To be successful in this role you should have excellent communication skills and be confident talking to the public. You should have an interest in William Shakespeare, his work, life and times, be able to vary your talk to the visitor and answer their questions, and deal with situations that may arise in an appropriate way.

Retail and Reception Assistant – Anne Hathaway’s Cottage – Part-time, permanent

The Trust is looking for a part-time Retail and Reception Assistant to work at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens.

Reporting to the Retail and Reception Manager and working closely with other members of the Retail and Reception Team, you will deliver a world class welcome for all visitors and contribute towards achieving financial targets.

To be successful in this role you should have retail or sales experience, be used to operating a computerised retail system and handling cash. You should have excellent customer service skills, be able to up sell products and ticket options, and deal with customer complaints in an appropriate way.

Please note this role involves working 4 hours on both Saturday and Sunday every week so you must be available and happy to work weekends.

Retail Sales Assistant – Birthplace Shop - Part-time, fixed term contract

The Trust is looking for two part-time Retail Sales Assistants to work 14 hours per week in the Shakespeare's Birthplace Shop.

During busy periods we welcome in excess of 300,000 people to our lively shop and need the help of enthusiastic team members to make their visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace a memorable one. So if you have a love of hard work, sales, display and meeting thousands of different people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy then we may have just the job for you. 

Day to day tasks will involve till operation, merchandising of displays, a fair amount of lifting/carrying heavy items, adding value to customer’s purchases and experiences, advising prospective visitors of the offer of the Trust and helping to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Birthplace Shop. 

Shakespeare's Birthplace and the Gift Shop are open seven days a week, and you will be required to work weekdays, weekends and a fair share of Bank Holidays so you should be flexible and available.

Previous retail experience is beneficial. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.

Role 1 – Monday 3rd June 2019 to Sunday 8th September 2019 (14 weeks)

Role 2 - Monday 24th June 2019 to Sunday 15th September 2019 (12 weeks)

Visitor Reception Assistants – Shakespeare’s Birthplace - Part-time, fixed term contract

The Trust is looking for two Visitor Reception Assistants to join the team at Shakespeare’s Birthplace, working 11 hours per week.

As Visitor Reception Assistant you will be responsible for delivering excellent standards of visitor experience through a warm welcome and sharing of information to enhance visitors’ understanding of the offer. You will also contribute to the financial sustainability of the Trust by ensuring that opportunities are taken to maximise sales through an efficient and professional admission process leading to increased average admissions and secondary spends.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a high profile, customer-facing operation, preferably a busy visitor attraction with a diverse audience. You will be used to delivering against a range of KPIs including financial and visitor satisfaction targets. A sound understanding of customer service principles, experience of using EPOS ticketing systems, and cash handling are also essential.

You will be required to work alternate weekends and Bank Holidays.
