Shipton & Co are looking for an experienced dynamic individual who will bring to their team an enthusiasm for superior customer service.

You will be responsible for maintaining high store standards, achieving agreed targets and providing excellent customer service.

Assistant Retail Manager – Shakespeare’s Birthplace Gift and Bookshop Full-time, permanent contract. (REF 59).

Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford upon Avon is an iconic literary destination and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for an Assistant Retail Manager to join the team in our flagship shop on Henley Street. Supporting both the Retail Manager and the Books and Publishing Manager, you will be a key member of the retail team as we strive to make our shop a market leader in heritage retail and develop our independent bookshop. Working in a dynamic retail environment, you will be engaging with visitors and customers from around the world.

You will have a passion for retail, experience of working in a supervisory capacity and the ability to motivate a team to drive sales and achieve retail targets. You will also have knowledge of the book trade and experience of bookselling, including merchandising and display. You will be familiar with EPOS and stock management systems and be experienced in cash handling and reconciliation. You will be an enthusiastic and confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.

Development Coordinator – Part-time, permanent contract. (REF 58)

The Trust is looking for a part-time Development Coordinator to support the Development Team, through efficient processing and acknowledgment of donations, managing the administration of the Friends membership scheme, maintaining accurate donor data on the SRO4 CRM database. You will produce reports and provide administrative support to help us give all supporters the best possible experience. 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent organisational and time management skills, you will have good communication skills both written and verbal, and strong attention to detail. You will be highly numerate and confident with tracking income and expenditure against targets, and a proactive, problem solving attitude. You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to answer queries from members, donors and members of the public.

The 21 hours per week can be worked over three, four or five days, and you may occasionally need to work evenings and weekends when there are special events.

Education Assistant – Make a Scene - Part-time, fixed term contract to September 2017. (REF 60)

‘Make a Scene’ is a summer project taking place across all five Shakespeare family homes. At each site a commissioned artist will design a performance space based on a Shakespeare play taking inspiration from a specific culture e.g. Romeo and Juliet in Russia. We are looking for Education Assistants to run craft activities following the artist’s vision assisting the public in creating artwork that will become part of the performance area. Over the August Bank Holiday, actors will perform the plays in the created spaces.

Education Assistants are needed to supervise the activities from 12:00pm to 4:00pm every day. To be successful in this role you will possess strong interpersonal skills, be interested in providing new experiences for visitors of all ages. This is a fixed term contract and we would like a commitment of two to six shifts per week.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 2nd July 2017, interviews/assessments will take place on Friday 7th July 2017, and training will be on Thursday 13th July 2017.

 

Retail and Reception Assistant - Mary Arden’s Farm. Part-time, fixed term contract. (REF 61)

The Trust is looking for a Retail and Reception Assistant to work at Mary Arden’s Farm until Friday 3rd November 2017, working an average of 10.5 hours per week.

You will support the Retail and Reception Manager, ensuring that visitors receive a warm welcome and that agreed sales targets are met or exceeded. You will also be involved with the team of volunteers at Mary Arden’s and assist in keeping customer satisfaction at its current level.

To be successful in these roles you should possess strong communication skills, have experience of using Ticket Desks and/or Retail Tills. Experience of receiving, recording and merchandising stock would be an advantage.

Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 10th July 2017 at Mary Arden’s farm.

 

Supporter Relations Officer – Part-time, permanent contract. (REF 57)

The Trust is looking for a part-time Supporter Relations Officer to support the Development Team, through helping to manage the relationship that Donors, Friends and prospects have with the Trust, ensuring that they feel valued and engaged through appropriate communications, messages and events.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of planning and organising events, experience of managing communication programmes and experience of providing service to supporters, members or customers. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills, good communication skills both written and verbal, strong attention to detail, and good interpersonal skills and the ability to answer queries from Friends, donors and members of the public.
