Sunday Supervisor

Vinegar Hill is seeking a confident and flexible individual to manage their Meer Street store on a Sunday.

The role is shop floor based and will involve leading a small team to achieve store targets, whilst promoting a friendly and approachable environment.

Contract to ideally include a Sunday management shift (5 hours) and a Monday lunch cover shift (4 hours)

Previous experience of managing a team preferred.

Assistant Farm Manager, Mary Arden’s Farm – full-time, permanent contract. (REF25)

The Trust is recruiting a full-time Farm Supervisor to support the Farm Manager in all areas of their work, ensuring that the livestock and associated areas of this Tudor working farm are well cared for, presented and interpreted to enhance visitors' enjoyment and understanding of Shakespeare's work, life and times.

You will also work closely with the Lead Period Interpreter and House Steward to develop and implement the day to day visitor offer at the farm, under the supervision of the Farm Manager and Site Manager.

To be successful in the role you will have practical experience with all classes of livestock and a recognised agricultural qualification. You will have a clear understanding of statutory health and safety and animal welfare legislation and its practical implementation. You will be used to supervising volunteers and educational groups and have an interest in demonstrating and interpreting pre-mechanised farming techniques to the public. Knowledge of organic systems and working with the public would be advantageous.

Hours will be on a shift pattern including weekends and some unsociable hours.

HR Apprentice – Full-time, 12 month contract. (REF 35)

The Trust is recruiting a HR Apprentice to join the HR team for a 12 month period.

As HR Apprentice you will provide administrative support for recruitment, volunteers, community outreach, induction, training and general areas of HR.

To be successful in this role you will have good organisation and administrative skills, attention to detail and be able to confidently communicate and establish good working relationships across all departments. You will possess good computer skills and be familiar with MS Office packages, and database experience would be an advantage. You will have a flexible attitude and a willingness to undertake a variety of different tasks and be proactive when working unsupervised.

As part of the role you will complete an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration through Stratford College.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 5th May 2017, and interviews will take place during week commencing 15th May 2017.

 

Retail Sales Assistant, Birthplace Shop – casual contracts x 2. (REF 37)

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for 2 casual Retail Sales Assistants to work from June until September 2017.

During busy periods we welcome in excess of 300,000 people to our lively shop and need the help of enthusiastic team members to make their visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace a memorable one. So if you have a love of hard work, sales, display and meeting thousands of different people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy then we may have just the job for you.

Day to day tasks will involve till operation, merchandising of displays, a fair amount of lifting/carrying heavy items, adding value to customer’s purchases and experiences, advising prospective visitors of the offer of the Trust and helping to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Birthplace Shop.

Previous retail experience is a benefit. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.

Retail and Reception Assistant, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage – casual contracts x 2. (REF 40)

The Trust is recruiting two casual Retail and Reception Assistants to support the team at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens from now to December 2017.

Reporting to the Retail and Reception Manager and working closely with other members of the Retail and Reception Team, you will deliver a world class welcome for all visitors and contribute towards achieving financial targets.

To be successful in this role you should have retail or sales experience, be used to operating a computerised retail system and handling cash. You should have excellent customer service skills, be able to up sell products and ticket options, and deal with customer complains in an appropriate way.
