Group Sales Administrator – casual, fixed term contract (REF70)

The Trust is looking for a casual Group Sales Administrator to support the Groups Team during our busiest period and to provide holiday cover for the permanent team.

You will respond to enquiries from prospective visiting groups; create and maintain contact with voucher scheme members, education establishments and group organisers. You may also support other members of the team with publicity campaigns and product launches.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in sales; possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills, and have the ability to problem-solve when issues arise. You should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent IT skills, experience of ticketing systems would be an advantage but training will be given.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 6th August 2017, and interviews will take place on Friday 11th and Monday 14th August 2017.

 

Operations and Marketing Administrator – part time, permanent contract (REF69)

The Trust is looking for a part-time Operations and Marketing Administrator to support the Director of Operations and Marketing.

As Operations and Marketing Administrator you will provide logistical and administrative support to the Director of Operations and Marketing, and provide support in facilitating the smooth delivery of capital projects and work programmes. You will work closely with the Director and their six Heads of Departments to ensure the efficient and effective running of the department which delivers our complete visitor facing operation and is responsible for over 85% of the charity’s income. You will be part of the team delivering projects and programmes across our sites and working in partnership with external bodies in the region, UK and internationally.

To be successful in this role you will possess highly organised administrative and secretarial skills, you will have good oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail. You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team, as well as independently. You should have excellent IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and be willing to take responsibility for operational processes and undertake training if needed. This is a demanding role and you will need a good sense of humour, enthusiasm and be willing to be flexible as the department develops.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 6th August 2017, and interviews will be taking place on Monday 14th August 2017.

 

Retail Sales Assistant, Birthplace Shop – part-time, fixed term contract  (REF68)

The Trust is looking for a part-time Retail Sales Assistant to work 14 hours per week in the Birthplace Shop until October 2017.

During busy periods we welcome in excess of 300,000 people to our lively shop and need the help of enthusiastic team members to make their visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace a memorable one. So if you have a love of hard work, sales, display and meeting thousands of different people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy then we may have just the job for you.

Day to day tasks will involve till operation, merchandising of displays, a fair amount of lifting/carrying heavy items, adding value to customer’s purchases and experiences, advising prospective visitors of the offer of the Trust and helping to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Birthplace Shop.

Previous retail experience is a benefit. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.

Volunteer Highlights; Behind the Scenes

A volunteer role has opened up in the Collections Department. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Library Volunteer who would love to help keep our collections organised! You can learn skills such as stock withdrawal and help edit some of our online catalogue records.

Conservation is at the heart of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust as we want to look after our sites and collection items for everyone around the world to enjoy. Be part of a fun team and help care for the collections at New Place, learn about preventative conservation and why it is important.
